These handmade paper sculptures were made from plaster counterparts cast on shoe moulds. In most cases, it is the toe of the shoe that has been reproduced and multiplied. By assembling them, new shapes are created. The result of this combination is a new entity that moves away from the form and function of the shoe. These amalgams praise the human encounters that influence and shape us day-to-day. We also find the meeting of different materialities of paper merging with a variety of materials. The surfaces are coloured with natural dyes and inks that I have made.
